Abort! Abort! Abort!

The omens were not good. Strong winds, flooding after Callender (which resulted in a lengthy detour via Comrie) and the car almost running out of coolant. Luckily this happened right in front of Lix Toll, the only garage for miles around. The plan was to do Buchaille Etive Mor in Glencoe but we were beaten by the weather (again!).

Here's how Glencoe and the Buchaille looked today. Where has all the snow gone since last Sunday?

Still, the Green Welly Stop was open as usual for breakfast, followed by coffee and a good fire at the Clachaig Inn.

This afternoon was spent at Connel Bridge and the very impressive Falls of Lora. On our way back to Tyndrum we wanted to visit the Cruachan Power Station but it was closed for maintenace. We also managed to fit in the Falls of Falloch (with this interesting sign).

Further refreshments were served at the Famous Drover's Inn. You can see I was almost eaten alive.

A busy day!

Leith Walk Pub Night

A night down the pub with John, then met up with Jen, Claire and Cath for some apres climbing.

John and I visited the newly refurbished Joseph Pearce.

Schiehallion

A day off from planning but a trip up Schiehallion with friends. Schiehallion is the place where the mass of the Earth was first calculated and contour lines were invented.

Afternoon tea at the Weem Hotel was rather good too.
