People along the way

Tsering was the eight-month-old baby girl from the owner of the lodge in Pangga. When the phone rang, Tsering was handed over to Jen (as the only woman in the room) for babysitting whilst mum was on her call.

Lhakpa Norbu was our cook and yak herder during our Island Peak expedition.

PK Sherpa (centre) was our main guide during the expedition.

Lhakpa Sonam Sherpa joined our expedition to take photographs. A relative of Tenzing Norgay, he is a very accomplished photographer who also runs the Sherpa Culture museum (www.sherpa-culture.com.np) and Hotel Sherwi Khangba in Namche Bazar.

Mia and Jens, from Sweden were our fellow climbers. We were also joined by Ina from Germany who lives in Switzerland (no photo shown).
